Proven technology

The overhead door type A has been developed over the course of many years into a sophisticated product. As a swinging door system it has proven itself for collective garages, above all due to its easy and robust construction and low insertion depth. Due to the intelligent lightweight aluminium structure, the door is particularly hard wearing and almost silent, and offers the architect and planner a high degree of freedom of design.

For the swinging overhead door type A, KÄUFERLE uses safety spring assemblies for weight compensation. Each assembly consists of several individual tension springs, which can be replaced separately quickly and easily without using special tools. Spring breakage does not cause the element to fall, as the remaining springs then compensate the weight to a high degree. The lifting mechanism consists of stable bearing blocks, lever arms, running rails and polyamide ball bearing mounted rollers.

DLH = Clear passage height. Clear passage dimensions are specified in the building regulations. The reduction of the clear building dimensions due to the installation of doors must be taken into account during planning. The clear passage height is reduced by approx. 60 mm if a flap door is installed.

Door wing elements
Weight is intentionally saved on the overhead door NA perfect by the use of special hollow aluminium sections. Any desired design can be implemented by means of custom-made solutions.

Flap doors
Doors can be easily integrated as flap doors into the door wing element of overhead doors or can be positioned next to the door wing element as side doors. The steel cables are optimally protected against corrosion by galvanising and partly by additional coating, the aluminium sections by anodising or powder-coating. Doors also used as emergency exits must have a clear passage width of at least 900 mm.

Flap doors made of aluminium sections, identical with the door, equipped with a hydraulic upper door closer, PZ lock, prepared for profile cylinders with aluminium door fitting E6/EV1 anodised, outside with button, inside with latch. When the door is open, a safety switch interrupts the control current to prevent a dangerous movement of the door wing element.

New flap doors can also be fitted with a concealed hinge.

Side doors made of aluminium sections, identical with the door, without a door sill, with a hydraulic upper door closer. PZ lock, prepared for profile cylinders with aluminium door fitting, E6/EV1 anodised, outside with button, inside with latch.

Drive K 120 RV / GV
For overhead door A (swinging) and overhead door NA perfect (non-swinging)
Quiet ceiling-mounted traction drive 230 volt with toothed belt and adjustable push rod, with soft-start and soft-stop function, electronic power cut-off and integrated radio receiver, incl. emergency-stop button in the vicinity of the door. Safeguarding [securing ?] of the main closing edges by means of an opto-sensor strip.

Drive KFU 125 RV / GV for overhead door NA perfect
Quiet and robust ceiling-mounted traction drive, 230 volt with frequency converter, transverse steel roller chain, soft-start and soft-stop function, incl. emergency-stop button in the vicinity of the door, safeguarding of the main closing edges by means of an opto-sensor strip.

Control unit
KÄUFERLE offers the standard control unit type RV with red pre-warning phase. As an alternative, control unit type GV can be used upon request for two-way lanes. Both control units were especially developed for the operation of door systems in collective garages.

Both control units contain a light disconnection function and the testing of the safety terminal strip and a reversing function, which automatically reverses the travel direction of the door wing element upon contact with an obstacle, thus releasing the obstacle.

TYPE RV door control unit with red lights
With automatic door closure and adjustable red pre-warning phase consisting of:

  • 1 control cabinet
  • 2 red lights
  • 1 button for emergency-stop function

By triggering a contact, the opening procedure of the door is initiated and the red lights on both sides illuminate. When the door is fully open, the lights go out. After expiration of a time phase the lights switch to red again and the closing of the door begins after a brief pre-warning time. When the door is closed, the lights go out. All time intervals are programmable.

Key-operated switch column
Galvanised and in DB 703 powder-coated, consisting of a hollow steel section an integrated key-operated switch with an aluminium cover plate, prepared for profile cylinders (semi-cylinders 10/30). Foundation size: 300 x 260 mm x frost depth

Ceiling-mounted traction switch
Pull-cord with pull chain for door operation upon exit.

Sound insulation
Door frame, rails and drive are mounted vibration-reduced by means of special dowels. The transfer of noise and vibrations is thus reduced.

Day and week timer
The door opening times can be freely programmed using the timer. The door closes automatically after expiration of the selected and set time.

Flasher switch
Door operation takes place via the flasher switch.

Induction impulse transmitter
The impulse transmitter consists of a loop detector and a loop cable, protection type IP 65. When crossed by a vehicle, the loop installed in the lane releases the contact to open the door. Closure takes place automatically after expiration of the set time phase.

Reflection light barrier as a safety device.
It serves to safeguard the swing area of the door wing element and is required since the coming into force of DIN EN 12 435 for power-operated door systems in automatic operation.

Radio control
Radio control as a single- or multiple-channel control unit 40/433 MHz, freely codable, consisting of a radio receiver and any number of hand transmitters.

TYP GV door control unit with red/green lights
With automatic close function in case of oncoming traffic consisting of:

  • 1 control cabinet
  • 2 red lights
  • 2 green lights
  • 1 button for emergency-stop function

By triggering a contact, the opening procedure of the door is initiated and the red lights illuminate until the door is fully open. After this, the lights switch over to green for one direction, thus enabling passage. After expiration of a time phase the lights revert to red and the closing of the door begins after a brief delay time. The lights for the opposite direction are red during the entire procedure. The lane is blocked. When the door is closed, the lights go out. All time intervals are programmable.
